It applies to all users, including authors, reviewers, editors, and administrators, hereafter referred to as "users."

NUJAH collects and processes personal data for the following purposes:

  • To manage peer review workflows, including reviewer assignments and communications.

  • To support editorial processes and maintain a transparent academic record.

  • To facilitate communication among users involved in the editorial and publishing process.

  • To maintain a secure, functional, and user-friendly journal management system.

3. Types of Personal Data Collected
The following data may be collected through the OJS platform:

  • Full name (given and family name)

  • Institutional affiliation (university/department or other organization)

  • Country and city of affiliation

  • ORCID ID (where provided)

  • Email address

  • User roles (author, reviewer, editor, etc.)

  • Encrypted account credentials (username and password)

4. Publicly Visible Information
The following information may be made publicly available on the journal website:

  • Authors’ names, affiliations, and ORCID IDs (if provided)

  • Editorial board members’ names and affiliations, Personal data of reviewers and handling editors for individual manuscripts, are not publicly disclosed.

5. Data Retention and Transfer

  • NUJAH retains personal data for archival, indexing, and citation purposes.

  • If the journal transitions to a new hosting platform or publisher, relevant personal data may be transferred, with prior notification and in compliance with GDPR.

  • Reviewer and editor data may be retained in the journal archive even if the journal ceases publication, unless deletion is requested and permissible under academic record-keeping standards.

The OJS platform uses session cookies to maintain login functionality. Additionally, NUJAH may collect analytics data such as:

  • Download counts

  • Geographic distribution of visitors

Users may request account deletion. However, published data (e.g., author names in articles) cannot be removed due to the scholarly and permanent nature of the academic record. Editorial staff may delete inactive accounts or outdated reviewer profiles periodically.

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect legal changes or improvements in data management practices. All updates will be published on the NUJAH website.
